Role Overview
Tower Hamlets Partnership is seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) specialist to join our Development Management Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing significant growth and delivering sustainable development in the borough.
Key Responsibilities
The EIA specialist will be responsible for preparing screening and scoping opinions, scrutinising Environmental Statements (ESs), securing mitigation measures, and working with planning officers on EIA developments. The role will also involve managing contracts with external consultants and overseeing the finances of these contracts.
Requirements
The successful candidate will need to have a detailed understanding of The Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (as amended), with specific knowledge of the local planning authority's roles and responsibilities. Good time management skills, organisational skills, and an eye for detail are also essential, as is the ability to make robust decisions in a timely manner.
