Position Overview

The Engineering Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the Project Management Function at the site, with a focus on strategic initiatives that align with the company's long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Development:

Contribute to the creation of a 5-year operational vision aimed at achieving sustainable improvements in cost and yield.Formulate and execute the operational strategy, including capital investment plans that support the site’s objectives.Utilize the Milliken Performance System (MPS) to enhance processes through Operational Excellence, Lean Manufacturing, and effective Project Management.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track the progress of annual plans, budgets, and projects, providing updates to relevant stakeholders.

Health, Safety & Environment:

Ensure compliance with the company's Safety Policy and HSE regulations.Promote safe working practices and foster a culture of safety across the site.Champion waste reduction initiatives to enhance environmental sustainability.

Supply Chain Management:

Gain insights into the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to connect demand with supply, assessing impacts on capacity and equipment needs.

Production & Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with the production team to ensure the consistent manufacturing of high-quality products.Continuously evaluate existing processes to optimize quality and cost efficiency, adhering to Milliken's quality standards.Engage in the development and implementation of new products, ensuring timely execution.

Engineering & Maintenance:

Identify needs for machinery replacement or expansion and prepare investment proposals for senior management review.

Financial Management:

Work with the finance team to prepare and update the annual capital budget.Assess the effectiveness of completed projects against capital expenditure expectations.

Team Leadership:

Facilitate open communication within the organization to enhance operational efficiency.Support employee training and development initiatives to maximize team performance.Foster a collaborative and supportive workplace culture that aligns with Milliken's values.

Commercial Engagement:

Assist in the development and execution of product management strategies, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess experience in the manufacturing sector, demonstrating:

A background in process or project engineering.A proactive approach to project management with the ability to work independently.Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.Proficiency in IT, particularly MS Office applications.Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.Experience managing project budgets up to £2M.A natural curiosity and willingness to explore innovative solutions.A valid driving license.
