Ormiston Meridian Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their Learning Support Team/SEND department. The successful candidate will work closely with students with learning difficulties, disabilities, and other barriers to their learning in mainstream classes.
Key Responsibilities- Establish supportive relationships with students and provide individualized support to identified learners.
- Work with SEND students on a one-to-one basis outside of the classroom and in small groups to support their learning.
- Collaborate with subject staff, students, and the SENCO to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
- Plan and deliver interventions to support students with SEMH issues, EHCPs, and other learning needs.
- Liaise with parents/carers to provide regular updates on progress and targets for SEND students.
- Contribute to the delivery and adaptation of the curriculum for SEND students.
- Support the broader life of the Academy community and promote inclusion.
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above or hold certificates in Literacy and Numeracy Professional Skills.
- Functional Skills Level 3.
- Must hold or be willing to work towards Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
- Awareness of strategies to support students with various SEND needs.
- Ability to work constructively as part of a team and demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
- Positive role model in the Academy community.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills to relate well to a wide range of people.
- Ability to positively manage behaviour and focus learners on tasks.
