Position: Academic Support Assistant

Teaching Personnel is pleased to announce an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Academic Support Assistant to join a vibrant primary educational institution. This role involves working closely with small groups of Key Stage 2 (KS2) students, ensuring they are engaged and achieving their maximum educational potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored educational support to KS2 pupils, fostering an engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of students, providing feedback to enhance their understanding of the curriculum.
  • Assist in the development of students' comprehension of tasks assigned by the classroom teacher.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress.
  • Engage in general teaching assistant duties as required.

Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of GCSE or equivalent qualifications in English and Mathematics.
  • Experience working with children who have social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Proficiency in supporting students with various specific learning difficulties and barriers to learning.
  • Confidence in managing a range of challenging behaviors.
  • Emotional resilience and a passion for overcoming challenges in an educational setting.
  • A commitment to professional development within a child-centered service.
  • A proactive approach to participating in all facets of school life, both academically and pastorally.
  • Experience in leading one-on-one and small group learning activities, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with robust ICT capabilities.
  • A genuine desire to positively impact the education and lives of young learners.
