Physiotherapy Team Member

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 5 Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients in the community.
Main Responsibilities- Establish effective communication networks with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues to contribute to clear decision-making regarding treatment principles and discharge planning.
- Communicate sensitive and unwelcome information regarding patient rehabilitation outcomes and problems surrounding discharge and placement in the community.
- Demonstrate rehabilitation and manual handling techniques to relatives, informal, and formal carers prior to patient discharge to ensure optimum patient care in the community.
- Liaise and make appropriate referrals to the Dorset Integrated Health and Care System and voluntary partners to voluntary and statutory services in the community.
- Be responsible for the maintenance of accurate, comprehensive, and contemporaneous patient records detailing all Physiotherapy interventions and significant events, following Trust and departmental policies.

Person Specification- Pre-reg Degree in Physiotherapy either BSc(Hons) or MSc (Hons)
- State Registered (HCPC)
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Member of a clinical interest group
- Attendance at relevant pre/post registration courses
- Student experience/placements in the following areas: Musculoskeletal OP, Orthopaedics, Neurology, Elderly care, ITU/Respiratory Medicine, Acute medicine
- Experience working within a care setting
- Supervision of assistant staff
- Involvement in audit or quality improvement projects
- UK Licence and use of a car for work purposes - business insurance
- Ability to demonstrate organisational values and behaviours
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good written and verbal skills
- Ability to organise and prioritise
- Able to work within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT)
- Committed to personal development
- Motivation, drive, enthusiasm, and confidence
- Knowledge of the Physiotherapy process, its application in clinical practice, and its role within the organization
- Understanding and application of Evidence-Based Practice
