Position Overview

As a vital member of the Amazon Business team, Strategic Account Managers are tasked with overseeing substantial strategic accounts (businesses with annual revenues of $2.5 billion and above), comprehending intricate requirements, and utilizing customized solutions to assist these clients in achieving procurement efficiencies at scale through Amazon Business.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in cultivating relationships across various functional areas such as procurement, procure-to-pay, production, maintenance, supply chain, and IT within large, complex organizations, along with a proven history of meeting and surpassing objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute a territory customer account management strategy.
  • Engage and network with key prospect and customer contacts through events, thought leadership initiatives, and collaboration with other Amazon teams.
  • Analyze and report on customer onboarding processes and spending adoption.
  • Establish close advisory relationships with senior customer stakeholders, including Chief Procurement Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and Vice Presidents.
  • Contribute to contract negotiations for large, complex agreements across multiple Amazon teams.
  • Accelerate spending adoption within your portfolio of strategic accounts.
  • Act as the 'voice of the customer' with internal Amazon teams, including Product Management and Category Management.
  • Drive periodic innovations to enhance customer satisfaction and team productivity.
  • Build relationships and manage customer projects with marketing, business development, customer service, payments, operations, technology development, and other key internal Amazon stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate experience in positioning and selling innovative solutions to both new and existing customers across various market segments.
  • Exhibit experience in identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing opportunities across a broad spectrum of customer engagement levels.
  • Utilize sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Possess knowledge of procurement and source-to-pay processes and solutions or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrate experience in identifying trends and needs to enhance already closed large-scale technology agreements.
  • Have a background in B2B or enterprise sales with a focus on acquiring new business.
  • Possess an MBA or Master's in Management.
