About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Development Underwriter to join our team at STRIDE RESOURCE MANAGEMENT LTD. As a key member of our Branch Senior Team, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Collaborate with strategic partner brokers to nurture new business opportunities and enhance renewal retention.
  • Schedule Management: Effectively manage your schedule to ensure visibility across the panel and uphold the company's reputation in the market.
  • Pipeline Development: Build a robust pipeline of promising opportunities and convert them in line with new business objectives.
  • Client Management: Oversee a small portfolio of larger, complex clients during the renewal process, identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Communication: Communicate with the Regional Underwriting Officer as needed to secure approval for significant cases, presenting a compelling business rationale.
  • Broker Network: Engage with key market contacts and ensure that the company's products and preferences are well-known within your broker network.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members to enhance the branch's expertise and skills.
Requirements
  • Experience: A proven record of success in new business development as a Senior Underwriter, Lead, or Trading Underwriter.
  • Network: A wide-reaching network of essential broker connections to bolster your trading endeavors in both new business and renewals.
  • Skillset: Proactive problem solvers, self-motivated, and capable of working efficiently.
  • Client Interaction: Comfortable engaging in face-to-face negotiations with brokers and direct client interactions.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical expertise in both Property & Casualty insurance domains.
