The Travelers Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Development Underwriter to join our Birmingham Branch. This role is responsible for managing submissions, quotes, and binds for new business, negotiating terms, and driving results in a hybrid capacity with flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage profitability, growth, and retention of a book of business.
  • Underwrite risks, actively target new business, and retention.
  • Utilize technology platforms efficiently.
  • Foster relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Mentor less experienced underwriters and support team members.

Requirements

  • Degree preferred.
  • Underwriting experience required.
  • Knowledge of local insurance market.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • ACII qualification preferred.
