Position Overview:
PRINT FINISHING ASSISTANT
This is a full-time role based in Norwich.
The work schedule operates on a triple shift rotation, 24/5:
Week 1: 6am - 1:30pm
Week 2: 1:30pm - 9pm (Monday to Friday)
Week 3: 9pm - 6am (4 nights, Monday to Thursday)
Employees must be available to work all three shifts.
Enjoy 26 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
Eligible for enrollment in the company pension scheme.
The hourly wage for this rotating shift pattern is £14 per hour.
This role is with a well-established, independently operated print packaging company.
Initially, candidates will undergo a 12-week temporary to permanent period (probation) through our agency, with the potential for permanent employment following successful completion of the probationary phase.
Our client is a prominent manufacturer in the packaging and print industry, providing a comprehensive range of design and print packaging solutions across various market sectors.
They are currently seeking a Print Finishing Assistant to aid in the production of high-quality corrugated, cardboard, and paper-based packaging, utilizing Bobst and SBL multipoint gluers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure print quality and product integrity, confirming that items are correctly assembled and suitable for their intended purpose. Strong communication skills, punctuality, and reliability are essential.
- Perform packing duties at the end of the glue line, maintaining effective communication and quality checks.
- Complete minimal paperwork related to process controls.
- Be prepared to work the specified triple shift schedule.
- Report any defects to the line leader or management promptly.
- Assist in the finishing of products at the back end of the gluer, ensuring readiness for dispatch with a keen attention to detail.
- Take precise dimensional measurements and verify compliance with product specifications, ensuring adherence to customer expectations.
- Maintain and clean machinery regularly.
- Demonstrate flexibility in operating various machinery competently.
- Maintain accurate records throughout the production process.
- Minimize downtime by planning ahead to ensure all necessary materials are available.
- Support the effective use of allocated labor to meet identified priorities.
- Collaborate with the Team Leader on process and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist the Team Leader in coordinating labor during meal breaks, ensuring compliance with scheduled break times.
This is a full-time opportunity with a rotating shift schedule. Enjoy 26 days of holiday per year, plus bank holidays, and benefit from free onsite parking.
