Position Overview

The City & County of Swansea is seeking a qualified and driven surveyor to join our Housing Renewals and Adaptation service. This role involves working within a dedicated team that manages various housing assistance programs, including Disabled Facilities Grants, Repair Loans, and Empty Property Grants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive property surveys.
  • Preparing detailed drawings, work schedules, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Assigning tasks to contractors and overseeing inspection duties.
  • Coordinating payments and managing project accounts.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage effectively with clients, tenants, contractors, statutory organizations, and partner agencies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a background in building construction, with relevant experience in building surveying practices. A solid understanding of current construction and health and safety regulations is required. Proficiency in CAD software and experience in developing disabled adaptation schemes, as well as preparing repair work schedules, is highly desirable.
