Position Overview
The City & County of Swansea is seeking a dedicated and skilled surveyor to join our Housing Renewals and Adaptations team. This role involves working within a grants agency framework to manage Disabled Facilities Grants and various housing support initiatives, including Repair Loans and Empty Property Grants.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive property surveys.
- Preparing detailed drawings, work schedules, specifications, and other necessary tender documentation.
- Assigning tasks to contractors and overseeing inspection duties.
- Facilitating payment arrangements and managing scheme accounts effectively.
Collaboration and Communication
The successful candidate will be expected to engage with clients, tenants, contractors, statutory bodies, and partner organizations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should possess qualifications in building construction and relevant experience in building surveying roles. A solid understanding of current construction and health and safety regulations is required. Proficiency in CAD software and experience in developing disabled adaptation schemes and repair work schedules are also necessary.
