Role Responsibilities:

As a Food Technology Instructor, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering engaging and high-quality lessons in Food Technology.
  • Designing and implementing lesson plans that align with educational standards and policies.
  • Supervising and mentoring a Teaching Assistant to enhance classroom support.
  • Monitoring student well-being and adhering to safeguarding policies.

Key Duties:

  • Create a supportive and safe learning environment for SEN learners.
  • Develop and deliver differentiated lessons that promote enjoyable learning experiences.
  • Adapt teaching resources to cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Provide constructive feedback to facilitate student progress.
  • Contribute to the development of essential skills in Maths, English, and life skills.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic performance.
  • Utilize regular assessments to track student progress and set achievable targets.
  • Engage positively with the school community, reflecting the values of Randstad.

Candidate Profile:

Successful candidates will likely demonstrate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status.
  • In-depth knowledge of the curriculum tailored for SEN students.
  • Experience working with young individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Preferable experience in delivering BTEC home cooking or similar educational programs.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection protocols.
  • Ability to cultivate nurturing relationships with students.
  • Experience managing various learning approaches, including those for students with anxiety.
  • Knowledge of strategies to engage reluctant learners.
  • Flexibility and creativity in instructional methods.
