About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our team at Kier Group. As a Senior Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our construction sites, ensuring that all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Management: Manage and coordinate the activities of site operatives and sub-contractors to ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the project plan and to the required quality standards.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards on site, ensuring that all necessary safety protocols are in place and that site operatives and sub-contractors are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and control the quality of work on site, ensuring that all work is carried out to the required standards and that any defects or issues are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of site operatives and sub-contractors, providing guidance and support as needed to ensure that they are able to carry out their duties effectively.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project managers, clients, and other site personnel, to ensure that all parties are informed and up-to-date on site activities and progress.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in a senior construction management role, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time, to budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 1/2 or equivalent, with a strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
  • Certifications: Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card – Supervisor - Gold, SMSTS Experienced Supervisor or Manager.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of site operatives and sub-contractors. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards on site.
