The Role: Senior Health and Safety Advisor

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional to make a significant impact within a forward-thinking organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and ongoing review of health and safety procedures for each project site.
  • Provide guidance and support to site teams on the interpretation and application of SHE management systems.
  • Promote the company's SHE standards within contracts and supply chains, conducting contractor/supply chain assessments.
  • Undertake site inspections and attend Site Review Meetings.
  • Identify and manage health and safety risks, issues, and opportunities.
  • Liaise with enforcing authorities on health and safety matters.
  • Create site-specific audit and inspection packs.
  • Monitor compliance reports from internal and external audits, ensuring corrective actions are completed effectively.
  • Review third-party risk assessments for quality and suitability.
  • Conduct audits of minor works across sites as required.
  • Prepare briefing packs for relevant sites and regional meetings.
  • Support the delivery of the SHE Plan and identified priorities.
  • Contribute to the preparation and issue of SHE Alerts, Bulletins, and Posters.
  • Review and update SHE processes and procedures as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in delivering statutory compliance, employers' duties, risk assessments, and auditing within the construction industry.
  • Relevant H&S qualification, including MSc, NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ Diploma, or NVQ L6.
  • Strong IT skills.
