About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to patients with functional and organic illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical input to the day-to-day functioning of the ward, including admission and treatment of patients.
  • Conduct psychiatric reviews of service users, supporting a multidisciplinary approach.
  • Participate in team handovers, ward rounds, and multidisciplinary Care Programme Approach (CPA) reviews.
  • Work effectively to facilitate timely discharge of patients from hospital.
  • Ensure effective and timely documentation, including admission and discharge summaries, Mental Health Act reports, progress notes, and communicating clinical decision making and management plans to relevant parties.

Person Specification
  • Full GMC registration and licence to practice with the General Medical Council.
  • MBBS or equivalent formal qualification.
  • Minimum of 4 years full-time postgraduate training (or equivalent) in a specialty training programme in psychiatry or as a fixed-term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty.
  • Experience engaging in and delivering clinical supervision and training.
  • Proven experience of good working relationships within a multi-disciplinary team.
