Job Description

Job Title: Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce SMR. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise across the lifecycle of C&I Systems for the SMR nuclear power plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components and systems to facilitate effective system design.
  • Support to planning and implementation of policies and procedures related to the life cycle of C&I systems.
  • Ensure that optimum solutions are provided for the RR SMR Nuclear Power Plant by supporting the procurement, operations, and maintenance aspects of the equipment.
  • Contribute to the production of safety cases and provide support in liaising with regulators and independent nuclear safety assessors.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree-level qualification in one or more of the engineering disciplines of electrical, electronics, instrumentation, control systems, mechatronics, physics, or computer science.
  • Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system, including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of safety or process-critical C&I systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of applying systems engineering methodologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering, to C&I systems.
