We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Control and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce SMR. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, development, and implementation of control and instrumentation systems for our new type of nuclear power station.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design and development of control and instrumentation systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control and instrumentation systems with other plant systems.
- Develop and implement system architecture, sub-system design, and equipment specification and design to realize the final verified design of the power station.
- Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components and systems to facilitate effective system design.
- Support the planning and implementation of policies and procedures related to the life cycle of control and instrumentation systems.
- Ensure that optimum solutions are provided for the RR SMR Nuclear Power Plant by supporting the procurement, operations, and maintenance aspects of the equipment.
- Contribute to the production of safety cases and provide support in liaising with regulators and independent nuclear safety assessors.
- Hold a degree-level qualification in one or more of the engineering disciplines of electrical, electronics, instrumentation, control systems, mechatronics, physics, or computer science.
- Minimum level of experience, training, and qualification in control and instrumentation systems engineering.
- Deep knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a control and instrumentation system, including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of safety or process-critical control and instrumentation systems.
- Knowledge and experience of applying systems engineering methodologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering, to control and instrumentation systems.
- A competitive salary of £57,600 - £75,600 (DOE) plus performance-related bonus of up to 12.5%.
- Benefits allowance of £2,200 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package.
- Pension scheme with 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- 28 days holiday (plus public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
- Private medical insurance (BUPA single cover healthcare).
- Life assurance (6x pensionable pay).
- £250 one-off payment for new starters for home office purchases.
