Apprentice Senior Sous Chef

Shepherd Neame is seeking an ambitious and dedicated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Senior Sous Chef. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Head Chef in leading the kitchen team
  • Deputize in their absence and take charge of kitchen operations
  • Assist with the development of the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food service
  • Participate in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Maintain good food hygiene practices and ensure equipment is clean and well-maintained

Training and Development:

You will have access to an online learning platform and portfolio system, as well as regular training sessions at the Chef Academy. Our training partners, HIT Training, will guide you through your learning journey.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 12 months course length, plus up to 3 months for End Point Assessment
  • At least 6 hours per week in paid hours to complete off-the-job training
  • Regular attendance at training sessions at the Chef Academy

Once you have successfully completed this apprenticeship, you may be able to progress into a head chef role and continue your professional development with a higher level apprenticeship.
