Year 5 Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Year 5 teacher to join our team at a supportive one-form entry school in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment that fosters well-rounded and confident children equipped for their future.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide pastoral care to children in Key Stage 2, promoting teamwork and a conducive learning environment.
  • Teach the Key Stage 2 curriculum to groups of children, focusing on individual learning targets and encouraging strengths and improvement of weaknesses.
  • Develop maths ability, introducing fractions, statistics, and geometry.
  • Help children develop their writing ability by creating plots, characters, and settings for stories.
  • Monitor children's progress and report back to parents as necessary.
Requirements:
  • QTS and PGCE with a strong academic record.
  • A creative, imaginative, determined, resourceful, and adaptable practitioner.
  • A passion for learning and the ability to demonstrate outstanding practice in the classroom.
