About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Triage Nurse to join our team at Practice Plus Group Hospital Plymouth. As a Triage Nurse, you will play a critical role in effectively managing the triaging of patients and making informed decisions about referrals to our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the triaging of patients, ensuring that they receive the appropriate level of care and attention.
  • Make informed decisions about referrals to our hospital, taking into account the patient's medical history, current condition, and treatment options.
  • Work collaboratively with our clinical team to continuously improve systems, structures, and processes of care delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Develop and maintain robust processes for managing referrals, investigations, and patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Level 1 Registered Nurse with ENB 176/183 or equivalent post-operative surgical care experience.
  • Substantial experience within an acute environment, with recent experience in the recovery of patients following surgery.
  • Previous experience in pre-assessment and a good understanding of infection control and health and safety issues relating to theatre.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize own workload, work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Competent in using varied IT systems and knowledge of when to refer to an anaesthetist.
