Corporate Legal Advisor

Salary: Circa £55,000 National / Circa £65,000 London

Location: Norwich and London

We are experiencing growth within our Global Corporate & Specialty (GCS) sector, presenting an exciting opportunity for a legal professional to become a part of our organization.

This position is ideal for an individual with expertise in commercial insurance who is eager to contribute to a dynamic and expanding Aviva UKGI Legal team.

Overview of the Role:

This position is crucial to our operations as you will deliver specialized knowledge, legal counsel, and insights on intricate legal issues. Staying informed about emerging legal trends, regulations, and industry standards will be essential.

You will collaborate with a diverse team on corporate and international (re)insurance transactions, engaging with our GCS divisions in London and Canada, while also providing legal advice regarding various legal and regulatory matters and associated risks.

Your role will support the achievement of favorable customer outcomes through all tasks and deliverables, ensuring we act in good faith towards clients, prevent foreseeable harm, and assist our clients in achieving their financial goals. Furthermore, you will represent Aviva in significant transactions and work with both internal and external stakeholders to fulfill the company's objectives.

Required Skills and Experience:

A qualified legal professional with experience in insurance distribution agreements, including Binders and Slips. Proficiency in drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts and agreements. Familiarity with policy wording drafting/interpretation, reinsurance, and insurance regulatory matters is preferred. Strong stakeholder management abilities and a collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams (underwriters, finance, claims, etc.).

Salary Circa £55,000 National / Circa £65,000 London (dependent on location, skills, experience, and qualifications) Bonus potential of 10% of annual salary (actual amount based on your performance and Aviva's) Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on your contributions. 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell up to 5 days.
