Position Overview

We are seeking a part-time Healthcare Engagement Coordinator, with a commitment of up to 28 hours per week.

The Healthcare Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in crafting and executing initiatives aimed at improving patient involvement and overall experience. This position emphasizes the importance of patient participation in their healthcare journey, nurturing constructive relationships between the practice and its patients. Key responsibilities encompass managing patient communication platforms, overseeing patient feedback mechanisms, and orchestrating educational and support initiatives for patients.

The Coordinator will collaborate closely with clinical teams, administrative personnel, and the Practice Manager to pinpoint opportunities for enhancing patient satisfaction and loyalty. By utilizing data analytics, patient insights, and contemporary healthcare trends, this role aspires to foster an inclusive and patient-focused environment. The Coordinator is expected to innovate and apply best practices in patient engagement to elevate health outcomes, improve service delivery, and ensure adherence to healthcare standards.

Main Responsibilities

Patient Communication and Relations:

  • Management of Communication Channels: Develop and sustain effective communication pathways for patient interactions, including digital platforms, telephonic systems, and in-person services.
  • Patient Feedback Mechanisms: Implement and supervise systems to gather insights on patient satisfaction and identify areas for enhancement. Analyze feedback to inform service improvements.
  • Patient Advocacy: Act as a liaison between patients and the practice's medical and administrative staff, ensuring that patient concerns and suggestions are addressed promptly and effectively.

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Patient Education Initiatives: Design, implement, and manage educational programs that inform and empower patients regarding their health, treatment options, and preventive care practices.
  • Health Promotion Activities: Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and execute health promotion initiatives that engage and educate the community on wellness.
  • Support Groups and Workshops: Facilitate the creation of support groups and workshops that cater to the needs of diverse patient demographics, such as chronic disease management or maternity care.

Engagement Strategy and Analytics:

  • Establishment of Patient Participation Groups: Create and manage effective Patient Participation Groups, feedback surveys, and other engagement methods.
  • Engagement Strategy Development: Formulate strategies to enhance patient engagement, utilizing data analytics to evaluate program effectiveness and patient needs.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators for patient engagement activities to assess success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to remain informed on the latest trends and best practices in patient engagement and experience.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to integrate patient engagement practices across all facets of patient care.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the patient engagement team, establishing objectives and providing coaching to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external stakeholders, including local organizations and health authorities, to promote the practice and its patient-centered services.

Quality Improvement:

  • Service Improvement Initiatives: Initiate and lead projects aimed at service enhancement based on patient feedback and engagement analytics.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all patient engagement activities adhere to healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Patient Experience Enhancements: Continuously seek opportunities to improve the patient experience through innovative engagement practices and feedback integration.
