Job Overview

The Acute Medicine Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary is a Centre of Diagnostic Excellence, providing a comprehensive service aided by excellent relationships with general internal medicine specialties, pharmacy, and radiology.

Main Duties
  • Provide timely assessment, management, and discharge of medical admissions to the Acute Medicine Unit.
  • Supervise junior doctors, ANPs, and nurse consultants in the medical SDEC and Acute Medicine Unit.
  • Teach and train undergraduate medical students and junior doctors.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (with a licence to practice).
  • Current MRCP(UK) qualification, or equivalent.
  • Certificate of Completion in Specialist Training (CCT) or within 6 months of completion of training at the time of interview.
  • Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR), or European Community Rights.
  • Substantial (5 years+) Acute internal Medical experience.
  • Specialty Certificate Examinations in Acute Internal Medicine.
