Consultant in Stroke and Geriatric Medicine Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant in Stroke and Geriatric Medicine to join our team at Triple West Medical. As a key member of our Medicine for Older People department, you will play a vital role in developing and strengthening our stroke pathway and frailty pathway, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care in the right environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contribute to the development of our stroke medicine service, working closely with the management team and consultant colleagues in the department of Medicine for Older People.
  2. Develop and support sub-acute rehabilitation for stroke patients in community hospitals and community settings.
  3. Maintain clinical responsibility for patients under care, in conjunction with colleagues in medicine for older people.
  4. Develop and promote services that minimize hospital stay and maximize opportunities for recovery and independent living.
  5. Participate in medical audit and clinical governance.
  6. Provide professional supervision, direction, and training to junior medical staff.
  7. Participate in postgraduate teaching.
  8. Attend meetings of the Directorate of Medicine for Older People, Rehabilitation, and Stroke.
