Job Title: Acute Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our Acute Medicine Unit, working closely with the Medical SDEC team to ensure timely assessment, management, and discharge of patients.

As a Consultant in Acute Medicine, you will be expected to supervise junior doctors, ANPs, and nurse consultants, as well as teach and train undergraduate medical students and junior doctors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on involvement with medical admissions to the Acute Medicine Unit, focusing on timely assessment, management, and discharge.
  • Supervise junior doctors, ANPs, and nurse consultants in the Medical SDEC and Acute Medicine Unit.
  • Teach and train undergraduate medical students and junior doctors.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (with a licence to practice).
  • Current MRCP(UK) qualification, or equivalent.
  • Certificate of Completion in Specialist Training (CCT) or within 6 months of completion of training at the time of interview.
  • Substantial (5 years+) Acute internal Medical experience.
  • Specialty Certificate Examinations in Acute Internal Medicine.
