Job Details

The University of Central Lancashire is seeking a highly skilled Scientific Support Technician to join our Technical Services team. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support and advice to staff and students in our state-of-the-art science laboratories and Forensics Science facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare laboratories and facilities for various scientific activities
  • Provide day-to-day technical support and advice to staff and students
  • Maintain equipment, perform safety checks, and update inventory
  • Assist with making up solutions, setting up practicals, and cleaning
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support a wide range of subject disciplines

Requirements:

  • Education to A-Level in a science subject or equivalent experiential learning
  • Practical experience in a related discipline, preferably with a scientific background
  • IT literacy and working knowledge of standard laboratory equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Manual handling skills, including lifting and carrying equipment
