About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Support Specialist to join our team at Star Academies. As a key member of our school's support staff, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional learning environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to students and teachers on the practical aspects of the curriculum.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment and facilities.
  • Develop and implement effective laboratory procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of educational programs and initiatives.
Requirements
  • A Levels or NVQ3 in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (LATA) or NVQ3 for Laboratory Technicians in Education or Level 3 Certificate in Laboratory Technical Skills or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation as it relates to the work of a school.
  • Knowledge of COSHH and ESCC regulations in relation to the safe handling and storage of chemicals.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
