We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Engineering Technician Apprentice. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in mechatronics, working with cutting-edge technology to maintain and repair our innovative vacuum products.

About the Role

As an Engineering Technician Apprentice, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing a deep understanding of workshop equipment and processes
  • Learning to service our pumps by conducting regular checks and maintenance
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts to ensure optimal performance
  • Applying safe systems of working, including electrical safety testing
  • Solving complex engineering and manufacturing problems using proven techniques and procedures

Training and Development

You will receive comprehensive training and development opportunities, including:

  • Collaboration with our training provider, East Surrey College, to ensure continuous learning and growth
  • Three days per week at East Surrey College in the first year, reducing to one day in the second year
  • Upon successful completion, you will obtain a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Engineering

Career Progression

Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, you may be offered a Service Engineer role with our in-house team, with opportunities to move into the field or within the wider Atlas Copco Group. You may also be eligible for further training to expand your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Four GCSEs at Grade C/4 or equivalent, including Mathematics, English, and a Science
  • A passion for engineering, with experience shown through personal interests or school projects
  • A strong interest in learning and growing as a service engineer
  • Good timekeeping and the ability to work to deadlines
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to understand and follow instructions
  • Takes pride in their work and has a keen eye for detail
  • Adaptable
  • Can-do attitude
  • Works collaboratively with others
