Position Type:
This is a temporary role designed to cover maternity leave for a specified duration.

No prior teaching experience is necessary; comprehensive training, guidance, and development will be provided.

Compensation:
£26,000 annually, with opportunities for advancement up to £31,000 per year.

Note:
The starting salary of £26,000 will be effective from a specified date. If you commence employment before this date, the initial salary will be £24,000 until the increase takes effect.

Performance Bonus:
£1,500 annually based on individual and company performance. Potential earnings for the first year: £27,500.

Time Off: 12 weeks of paid vacation each year.

Work Location:
You will provide instruction in various primary schools throughout a designated regional area each week. The approximate center point of this region is where this position is advertised.

Travel Reimbursement:
Additional fuel contributions will be provided alongside the salary.

A valid driving license and personal transportation are essential for this role.

Role Overview


Deliver engaging and inspiring music lessons in a rock and pop band format across up to 10 primary schools weekly.

Serve as a musical role model, empowering and guiding children in primary schools to perform live at termly concerts.

Provide children with their first opportunity to learn an instrument, fostering their confidence, resilience, and well-being through band performance.

Represent Rocksteady, cultivating strong relationships with schools, educators, and parents.

Engage in a highly active role; responsibilities include transporting and setting up band equipment multiple times daily while delivering lessons with enthusiasm.

Qualifications and Skills

A valid driving license and personal transportation are required.
Proficiency in at least two of the following instruments: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, and vocals.
A genuine passion for teaching (extensive training and support will be provided).
Ability to work in a manner that prioritizes the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both children and adults.
Outgoing, confident, and approachable demeanor.
Strong independent worker with effective time management skills.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
High level of integrity and resilience.

This role involves regular interaction with children and young people, and as such, it is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

If offered this position, Rocksteady will require you to complete an enhanced DBS check with a children's barred list check.
