About the Role

Russell Taylor Group Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Vehicle Test Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating multiple test rigs, supporting the installation and calibration of systems, and ensuring high workplace standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate on the powertrain test rigs for external clients, ensuring accurate and efficient testing.
  • Be involved with project set-ups and test cell operation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Operate multiple complex test rigs outside of typical hours using specialized test methods, requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Support the installation and calibration of data acquisition systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Ensure all instrumentation used is calibrated to the company's rigorous procedures, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Assist in the debugging and development of complicated electronic systems with high-speed serial interfaces, requiring strong technical expertise.
  • Support rig or cell operation and installation with both mechanical and electrical assembly & disassembly tasks, adhering to company electrical system standards.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers, and colleagues in a professional manner to develop strong and productive relationships.
Requirements
  • Masters' qualification in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline with industry experience or experience from a mechanical background.
  • Excellent communication skills with internal teams and external clients, with the ability to articulate complex technical information.
  • Highly motivated with a strong ambition to succeed, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Good at maintaining consistent paperwork and documentation, with a strong understanding of company procedures.
  • Adaptable with the ability to learn quickly, with a strong desire to grow and develop within the company.
  • Machining knowledge with the ability to interpret CAD drawings for rigging purposes, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Confidence with I.T Systems, with a strong understanding of software environments and technical tools.
