Position Overview

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Electric Vehicle (EV) Test Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of automotive EV Powertrain test rigs, catering to external clients. Your duties will encompass project setup, troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical assembly, as well as managing test cell operations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual eager to embrace new challenges and expand their knowledge in the rapidly advancing EV sector.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A vocational qualification or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred, though substantial experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in IT (Microsoft Office Suite) is necessary for maintaining accurate and traceable documentation.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • A dynamic mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt is crucial.
  • Knowledge of EV powertrain, battery, and hybrid systems is required.
  • Experience in testing operations for EV powertrains or hybrid systems is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with AC and DC electrical systems is necessary.
  • This position involves rotating shifts: Early Shift - 6am to 2pm, Late Shift - 2pm to 10pm.

About the Role

You will be part of the Transportation Technologies division, which operates two laboratories. One specializes in combustion engine and complete powertrain testing, while the other focuses on electric vehicle propulsion systems, including electric motors and integrated axle modules. This division has experienced significant growth, doubling in size every two years since 2015.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operation of multiple test rigs outside standard office hours using established testing protocols.
  • Install and calibrate data acquisition systems.
  • Debug and commission complex electronic systems with high-speed serial interfaces (e.g., CAN, FLEXRAY).
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with customer specifications.
  • Engage professionally with colleagues, clients, and suppliers.
  • Maintain calibration of all instrumentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Contribute to the implementation of safe working practices.
