About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at Headway Adolescent Resources. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the needs of young people in our care are met and providing a positive and safe living experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare.
  • Work with the Children's Home Manager to ensure the residential home runs smoothly and effectively.
  • Ensure young people achieve positive outcomes and receive a high standard of care.
Requirements
  • Good overall standard of education.
  • Working towards or hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
  • Hold a QCF Level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards one.
  • Commitment to commence relevant Level 5 Diploma within 6 months of appointment and successful completion of probation period, if not already qualified to this level.
  • A minimum of 2 years' previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behaviour.
  • Experience of working with outside agencies, other professionals, parents, and families.
  • Experience of attending reviews, planning meetings, etc.
  • Excellent report writing and numeracy skills.
  • Well-organised with excellent administration and IT skills.
  • Able to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of childcare and to achieve the best outcomes for young people in their care.
  • Strong motivational, management, and leadership potential. Able to supervise, support, and develop Team Leaders & Residential Support Workers to create a cohesive team.
  • The successful applicant will be subject to a DBS check at enhanced level if successful for the position.
  • Must hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence (manual).

  • On-call payments - £10 for weekday (Monday to Friday) and £50 for Saturday and Sunday.
