About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As a key member of our Legal team, you will provide expert legal advice and support to our business teams in the UK and US.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Lead the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of various legal agreements, including services, confidentiality, material transfer, consultancy, research, collaboration, and IP license agreements.
- Clinical Trials Support: Provide legal support for our clinical trials across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- General Legal Support: Offer ad hoc general legal support as required, including assisting individuals in the business with contract approval processes.
- Litigation Management: Assist with the management of any litigation, working closely with external counsel as needed.
- Intellectual Property: Apply a detailed understanding of our technologies, products, intellectual property, and R&D activities to provide informed legal advice.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with key stakeholders in the UK and US on a daily basis, building strong relationships and ensuring effective communication.
Requirements
- Qualifications: A qualified lawyer with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience.
- Commercial Experience: Proven experience in a broad range of commercial and corporate legal advice, including commercial contracts and related IP issues.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of work.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work across functions and with international teams.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to proactively identify issues, think strategically, propose, and implement practical solutions.
