Exciting Opportunity: Criminal Law Liaison Officer

Our organization, Office Collective, is a prominent legal entity in the industry, currently in search of a proficient Criminal Law Liaison Officer to enhance our expanding Business Crime and Regulatory (BCR) division. This role is based in our office, with the flexibility of remote work available for up to two days each week, providing a chance to be part of a respected firm recognized for its dedication to client service and employee growth.

Role Responsibilities:

In this position, you will oversee a varied caseload with a primary emphasis on police-related criminal and misconduct matters. You will also assist two senior partners with intricate cases. This is a distinctive chance to join a well-regarded practice and play a vital role in our growth into police misconduct inquiries, inquests, and associated legal processes.

Candidate Profile:

  • Up to two years of post-qualification experience in a reputable criminal law firm (for qualified candidates) or equivalent expertise in criminal law (for accredited representatives).
  • A proactive individual with a history of achieving results.
  • Willingness to engage in an out-of-hours schedule for police station representation in the surrounding regions.
  • Possession of a full driving license is preferred.

Required Experience and Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of criminal and regulatory legislation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a diverse criminal caseload to a high standard.
  • Completion of the police station accreditation qualification or confidence in advising clients during interviews under caution.
  • Experience in handling cases in both Magistrates' Court and Crown Court.
  • Preferred background in advising on professional misconduct and disciplinary matters, particularly in relation to police misconduct.

  • Delegate tasks appropriately and assess the need for experts, agents, and counsel.
