Your Responsibilities

As a Criminal Law Advocate, you will:

  • Represent clients at various police stations, including fulfilling call-out duties for out-of-hours attendance.
  • Oversee general case preparation, instruct Counsel for cases, and participate in conferences.
  • Support Senior Solicitors, trainees, and paralegals in managing and progressing cases, ensuring thorough research and the engagement of appropriate experts when necessary.
  • Represent witnesses, prepare statements, and advocate for clients in Crown Courts, Coroner's Court, and various tribunals.
  • Attend conferences with Counsel to facilitate robust case development and representation.
  • Ensure compliance with all professional obligations, including case conduct and management in line with SRA requirements.
  • Collaborate with key support functions within the parent organization, such as Compliance, Facilities, Finance, HR, Legal, Marketing, and IT, to fulfill reporting obligations.
  • Adapt to various operational demands as required by the evolving needs of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in Criminal Law.
  • Accreditation for Police Station attendance.
