About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systemic Family Therapist to join our specialist Sussex-wide Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, specialist applied systemic family therapy services to clients, their families, or carers with highly complex presentations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior-level supervision and governance to a defined group of systemic family therapists in SFEDS, promoting best practice and staff development.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the leadership team to develop and promote evidence-based practice within allocated resources.
  • Lead on agreed parts of the clinical and social care governance framework within the care group/service.
  • Supervise and support the psychological assessment and practice provided by other systemic therapists and clinical staff.
  • Manage a complex caseload, providing direct clinical work and groups with young people and families.
  • Facilitate and support multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, systemic case consultations, and supervise Eating Disorder Therapists.

Requirements
  • Registered with UKCP.
  • Highly skilled in specialized systemic assessment and therapy for patients with eating disorders and their families.
  • Able to provide specialist advice and consultation to CAMHS colleagues and external agencies.
  • Able to support systemic and family practice within the service, providing effective leadership and management.
  • Considerable experience of working with young people and families with eating disorders, CAMHS, and change management.
Person Specification
  • Approved postgraduate/masters-level qualification in a recognized psychological therapy, leading to recognized professional accreditation in Systemic Family Therapy.
  • Professionally registered as a psychological therapist with a relevant registration body.
  • Post-qualification training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice.
  • High-level knowledge of the theory and practice of specified psychological therapy.
  • Experience of working as a qualified psychological therapist, exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment.
