About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systemic Psychotherapist to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, specialist systemic family therapy services to clients, their families, or carers with complex presentations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and management to staff, promoting high performance standards and achieving the Trust's objectives and priorities.
  • Undertake and/or participate in relevant clinical research, service evaluation, and audit.
  • Provide clinical supervision to eating disorder therapists, the duty team, and/or the home intervention team, in accordance with Trust Clinical Governance standards and standards prescribed by AFT and UKCP.
  • Act as a specialist systematic psychotherapy resource, providing systemic supervision, consultation, and training within CAMHS, in line with the requirements of service development.
  • Provide a highly specialist assessment of referrals for clients with an eating disorder of significant and complex nature, formulating and implementing plans for treatment and management.
  • Work in ways that are sensitive to the needs of families from a wide range of racial, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
  • Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, taking into account complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the young person and their difficulties.
  • Undertake risk assessment and risk management relevant to individual patients, including protective and risk factors present in the network of significant relationships.
Requirements
  • Registered with UKCP.
  • Skilled in specialised systemic assessment and comfortable in providing highly specialised therapy for patients with an eating disorder and their families.
  • Able to provide specialist advice and consultation to CAMHS colleagues and external agencies, working autonomously within professional guidelines.
  • Able to support systemic and family practice within the service, providing effective leadership and management, as well as staff supervision, consultation, and training.
  • Considerable experience of working with young people and families with an Eating Disorder, CAMHS (ideal but not essential), and change management/implementation.
Person Specification
  • An approved postgraduate/masters-level qualification in a recognised psychological therapy, leading to recognised professional accreditation in Systemic Family Therapy.
  • Post-qualification training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice.
  • Training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, supervision, and/or other fields of psychological therapy.
