Environmental Sustainability Engineer Job Description

About Whiteoak Associates:
We are a forward-thinking Engineering Consultancy dedicated to advancing sustainability in the built environment. We are looking for passionate Environmental Sustainability Engineers to contribute to our mission of reducing carbon emissions in buildings. In this role, you will engage in a variety of services including:
  • Assessing commercial property portfolios
  • Energy Performance Modelling
  • Financial Analysis for Return on Investment
  • Advising on carbon neutrality strategies
  • Mechanical & Electrical Design and project oversight for sustainability initiatives
  • Implementing innovative green technologies such as Solar PV and LED Lighting
Key Responsibilities:
Working in a flexible environment that includes office, remote, and client site engagements, you will support real estate clients in their efforts to decarbonise their property holdings. Your responsibilities will encompass:
  • Conducting surveys of Commercial Properties
  • Generating reports on energy efficiency and potential enhancements
  • Performing Building Performance Analysis and Modelling
  • Offering guidance on carbon-neutral property strategies
  • Developing Mechanical & Electrical Services Designs
  • Overseeing the integration of green technologies
  • Engineering retrofitting solutions
  • Supporting clients in their decarbonisation plans
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess:
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK
Experience & Skills:
  • Proficiency in IES Virtual Environment software
  • Background in Building Services Design
  • A strong commitment to sustainability in the built environment
  • Exceptional communication abilities
  • Confidence in engaging with clients
