Leadership and Clinical Governance
The Clinical Operations Director will provide strategic leadership to the clinical teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services. This will involve:
- Developing and implementing clinical governance standards and risk management arrangements within all services.
- Ensuring compliance with all industry regulations and legal requirements, including data protection legislation.
- Working with Registered Managers to ensure the Practice complies with all CQC requirements.
- Actively managing complaints, concerns, and incidents with other clinical and operational personnel as necessary.
Service Development and Improvement
The Clinical Operations Director will be responsible for embracing a mindset of continuous improvement in all services, supporting organisational change, and delivering effective projects and services for the practice. This will involve:
- Analysing performance data to identify areas for improvement and developing action plans to address and improve performance.
- Implementing and monitoring action plans to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Working with the Business Manager and Medical Director to develop and improve services to the highest standards.
People Management and Development
The Clinical Operations Director will provide clear and consistent leadership to the staff within the departments, ensuring the continuous management of services. This will involve:
- Providing visible, accessible, and authoritative presence in clinical settings.
- Managing and developing clinical workflows and staffing levels within the teams to ensure delivery of the best service.
- Ensuring effective management of direct reports, including holiday and sickness management, performance management, annual leave requests, and appraisals.
Finance and Performance
The Clinical Operations Director will take responsibility for ensuring the effective and efficient use of resources available, including taking responsibility for the care and safe keeping of equipment issued for personal, team, and/or patient use. This will involve:
- Authorising expenditure within the approved level and agreed budgets, ensuring value for money.
- Ensuring adherence to procurement processes and stock management within the team.
- Providing financial oversight and approving expenditure, including payroll/salary changes for your departments and within your authorised approval level.
Reporting Lines
The Clinical Operations Director will report directly to the Business Manager with additional clinical input to the Medical Director and dotted line to the Director of Primary Care.
