Position Overview

Job Role: Behavioural Support Specialist

Location: Camden

Compensation: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

GSL Education is on the lookout for a committed and empathetic Behavioural Support Specialist to join one of our partner educational institutions in Camden. This position is focused on assisting students who need extra support in managing their behaviour, enabling them to reach their maximum potential within an academic environment.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • At least GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management or special educational needs (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies
  • Exceptional communication abilities to effectively interact with students, educators, parents, and external agencies
  • Compassion, patience, and resilience when working with students exhibiting challenging behaviours
  • Capability to foster positive relationships and build trust with students
  • Strong organizational skills for documentation management and accurate record-keeping
  • Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to execute behaviour support plans tailored for individual students
  • Assist students facing behavioural challenges, ensuring they stay engaged and focused on their educational tasks
  • Formulate and implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and enhance social interactions
  • Track and document student behaviour, progress, and incidents, providing constructive feedback to educators and staff
  • Support the enhancement of students' social skills and emotional well-being through targeted interventions and activities
  • Work together with teachers and parents to identify triggers and devise proactive behaviour management strategies
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities to improve your skills and knowledge in behaviour support
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning atmosphere, adhering to the institution's policies and procedures regarding safeguarding and child protection

Documentation Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for a new one through us
  • Two professional references related to child care
  • An updated CV
