Position Overview

Job Role: Behavioural Support Specialist

Location: Camden

Compensation: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

GSL Education is on the lookout for a committed and empathetic Behavioural Support Specialist to become part of a client school in Camden. This position focuses on assisting students who need extra support to manage their behaviour and reach their academic potential within a school environment.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • At least GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Relevant qualifications or training in behaviour management or special educational needs (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies
  • Exceptional communication abilities to effectively connect with students, educators, parents, and external professionals
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience when engaging with students exhibiting challenging behaviours
  • Capability to foster positive relationships and build trust with students
  • Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and maintaining accurate records
  • Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to execute behaviour support plans tailored for individual students
  • Assist students facing behavioural challenges, ensuring they stay engaged and focused on their educational tasks
  • Devise and implement strategies that encourage positive behaviour and social interaction
  • Monitor and document student behaviour, progress, and incidents, providing constructive feedback to teachers and staff
  • Support the enhancement of students' social skills and emotional well-being through targeted interventions and activities
  • Work alongside teachers and parents to identify triggers and create proactive behaviour management strategies
  • Engage in training and professional development opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge in behaviour support
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, adhering to the school's policies and procedures regarding safeguarding and child protection
