Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Programme Construction Manager, you will be instrumental in the successful execution of complex projects at Gatwick Airport. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring construction management teams, fostering skill development and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Conducting regular safety engagements on assigned projects to ensure adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, while promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Reviewing contractor submissions for compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Inspecting construction work to verify alignment with project specifications and drawings.
  • Assisting the Project Manager in managing contractual communications.
  • Addressing construction-related challenges effectively.
  • Coordinating with engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitoring project progress and facilitating contractor operations through effective negotiation of access and permits.

Qualifications and Skills:

The dynamic nature of Gatwick Airport requires a flexible and innovative approach to problem-solving. You will engage with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, necessitating:

  • Experience in a similar engineering role, such as Field Engineer or Section Engineer.
  • Desirable background in aviation or large-scale civil and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience in leading teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with project handover and closeout processes.
  • Knowledge of HSE issues related to construction.
  • Understanding of quality management principles.
