About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Reinsurance Analyst to join our dynamic Outwards Reinsurance Placement team in London. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the end-to-end placement process, ensuring the delivery of exceptional reinsurance solutions.

As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in providing insightful analytics and data-driven recommendations to support purchasing decisions and effectively manage risk. You will collaborate closely with Lead Buyers, Underwriters, and other stakeholders across various departments, gaining valuable exposure to the intricacies of the reinsurance market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive Outwards Reinsurance reports for strategic planning and business intelligence purposes.
  • Prepare standardized renewal submission information and assist Lead Buyers in managing the entire placement process, both through intermediaries and direct interactions with reinsurers.
  • Contribute to the exploration of alternative risk transfer mechanisms and support the structuring of capital market transactions.
  • Assist in producing reports and management information (MI) requirements for the Outwards Reinsurance Lead and senior management.
  • Provide essential data and insights for group committees and board meetings.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including Underwriters, Processing teams, Reinsurers, and Intermediaries, ensuring seamless communication and information flow.
  • Participate actively in team projects on an ad hoc basis.
  • Prepare the required documentation for Lloyd's Regulatory Returns on a quarterly basis.

About You

We are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of the insurance industry. Previous experience in Underwriting, Catastrophe Modelling, or Broking is highly desirable.

You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Your ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities will be crucial to your success in this role.

Technical Skills

  • Experience in mapping, reviewing, and analyzing data for control, monitoring, and decision-making purposes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI and SQL or a willingness to learn these tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
