Lead Reinsurance Financial Analyst

AXA Group is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Lead Reinsurance Financial Analyst to become a vital part of our Ceded Reinsurance Team.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Overseeing the management of the reinsurance program, ensuring accurate interpretation of intricate reinsurance agreements to facilitate precise accounting.
  • Enhancing AXA's risk/return profile with a focus on increasing shareholder value through effective reinsurance contract management.
  • Collaborating closely with the actuarial team to ensure correct allocation of reinsurance premiums in alignment with global treaty terms.
  • Engaging with Ceded Re Buyers and Business Units to assess and prepare ceded premium allocations that accurately reflect financial outcomes.
  • Managing global ceded recoveries, including multi-system calculations of claims and monitoring of annual aggregate deductibles.
  • Executing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for assigned reinsurance programs, while resolving any issues with finance teams and intermediaries.
  • Ensuring compliance with NAIC Schedule F requirements and preparing quarterly statements for the insurance segment.
  • Maintaining direct communication with external clients regarding contractual agreements and managing the collateral process for statutory reporting.
  • Overseeing daily collateral activities, ensuring proper communication regarding Letters of Credit and trust accounts.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing technological solutions.
  • Training offshore teams and conducting monthly data quality checks.
  • Gaining proficiency in various internal systems used for reinsurance accounting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in reinsurance accounting.
  • Knowledge of different reinsurance types, particularly excess of loss contracts.
  • Familiarity with ceded reinsurance accounting functions.
  • Completion of industry designations such as CPCU, AIAF, or ARe is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with knowledge of SQL being advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical and financial reconciliation skills.
  • Strong customer relations capabilities and results-oriented mindset.
