About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Peer Support Worker to join our team in the Camden Crisis Teams. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing one-to-one support to service users, helping them to set personal goals for recovery, develop strategies for maintaining their well-being, and identify their own personal sources of support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to service users, working closely with them to set and achieve personal goals for recovery
  • Develop and implement care plans, including identifying and mobilizing resources to support service users
  • Work collaboratively with the Connections Team Leader and other members of the team to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of service user interactions, using VoiceAbility and NHS electronic records systems
Requirements
  • Lived experience of mental health challenges
  • Experience of accessing mental health services
  • Experience of being in a supportive and enabling role
  • General understanding of mental health issues, with a non-judgmental attitude and knowledge of services available to support individuals
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ability to work within organizational policies and procedures, local health and social care policies, guidelines, and processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Professional, enthusiastic, and engaging, with a positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Enhanced DBS with Children & Adults Barred lists (or willingness to obtain)
