About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Randstad. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism spectrum disorders in our educational setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with autism, helping them navigate the school day and develop essential life skills.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt lessons and create a tailored learning environment that meets the specific needs of students.
  • Utilize visual aids and other communication tools to facilitate students' understanding and promote effective communication.
  • Help students develop social and communication skills, enabling them to interact confidently with their peers.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, working closely with the SENCo and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with autism in an educational setting, with a strong understanding of autism spectrum disorders and related strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Relevant qualifications in SEN support or experience in a similar role, with a commitment to inclusive education and a passion for making a positive impact.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong sense of empathy, with the ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
