Position Overview

National Build Compliance Manager - Telecommunications Infrastructure

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Reading

Role Summary:

The primary objective of this position is to develop, oversee, and enhance the frameworks, systems, processes, and controls necessary for effective governance of national construction initiatives on behalf of the organization and its stakeholders. This includes managing all associated forums, communications, and governance checkpoints.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage national construction standards to ensure adherence to UK regulatory and statutory requirements while achieving defined business objectives, cost efficiency, and performance metrics.
  • Continuously refine and enhance the strategies, systems, processes, and controls essential for governing national construction efforts.
  • Demonstrate a strong background in Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment (HSQE) practices, as this is a critical aspect of the role.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Proven expertise in construction planning, including risk assessment, work planning, health and safety documentation, and method statements.
  • Significant experience in mobile telecommunications network deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Extensive background in developing and maintaining construction standards and guidelines within mobile network infrastructure settings.
  • In-depth understanding of the methodologies and processes required for building network infrastructure, collaborating with partners, contractors, and internal teams, with a focus on quality and ongoing improvement.
  • Experience managing construction programs within a Telecommunications Cellular Network Infrastructure environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at various levels across matrix organizations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with internal teams and external partners.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to deliver program outcomes and achieve business results.
  • Proven experience in collaboration, conflict resolution, and change management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Membership in the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
  • Relevant qualifications in structural or civil engineering.
  • Electrical Engineering certifications such as BS7671.
  • NEBOSH certification.
  • Experience in managing principal contractor responsibilities.
