We are currently seeking an Operational Risk Specialist.

The ideal candidate will oversee the second line of defense concerning operational and financial risks within esure, ensuring that the risk management framework is effectively integrated into the organization by assisting teams in identifying, documenting, and managing their principal risks and controls, while providing impartial guidance and challenging risks and issues, ensuring that essential risk processes are comprehended and adhered to.


Key Responsibilities:


Support the Head of Risk and Capital by:

  • Managing the Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process, which includes stress testing, scenario analysis, risk appetite, emerging risks, and reporting to Board-level committees.
  • Providing second line risk oversight and challenge for various business areas (Finance, Actuarial, Pricing & Underwriting, and Claims), including partner management, risk reviews, regulatory tracking, raising significant risks, and ensuring that actions and root cause analyses are completed.
  • Offering mentorship on identifying and managing key risks, controls, metrics, and issues.
  • Conducting second line control assessments and investigations or producing reports on risk or control issues.
  • Supporting projects within business areas.
  • Acting as the Expert Administrator of the Xactium Risk System.
  • Providing ad-hoc support on other team responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in relationship building and robust oversight and challenge of the first line.
Strong financial insight.
Understanding of risk quantification methodologies and tools.
Data-driven approach with the capability to analyze extensive data sets and create concise reports.
Experience in a risk, assurance, or audit capacity.
Good understanding of the financial services or other regulated sectors.
Agile experience.
Experience in financial crime matters.
