Job Summary

The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join their team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the dispensary and clinical services, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the smooth running of the dispensary, including labelling, dispensing, and checking duties
  • Supporting the training and induction of new members of the team, including pharmacy apprentices, trainee technicians, and pharmacists
  • Monitoring workload and tracking screen to support TTO KPI
  • Providing patient counselling and answering queries from service users
  • Supporting ward-based tasks, including assessing patients' own drugs, medicines reconciliation, and one-stop ordering
  • Receiving deliveries and managing stock processes
  • Working with electronic prescribing and robotic systems to support labelling and dispensing of medications

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Pharmacy Technician holding an NVQ Level 3 or other relevant qualification
  • Comprehensive dispensary experience in either hospital or community
  • Previous experience of training and supervision of other staff
  • Enthusiastic and responsible attitude
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with a considerate approach to the needs and feelings of others
  • Able to acknowledge and appreciate change
  • Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to CPD and PDP
  • Good time management, organisation, and prioritisation skills
