Clinical Specialist Role

As a Clinical Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering effective pain management to individuals and groups, working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Your primary focus will be on devising, reviewing, and participating in delivering plans of care aimed at helping patients achieve their goals.

You will be responsible for communicating effectively with patients' GPs to facilitate a beneficial partnership in patient care. Additionally, you will promote patient education and understanding of pain, rehabilitation, and self-management strategies, both individually and as part of pain management or other treatment programmes.

Key responsibilities include evaluating your own performance based on professional and clinical standards, identifying strengths and development potential, and participating in your annual appraisal process and ongoing supervision where required.

You will also identify relevant learning and development opportunities and engage in appropriate continuous professional development where practicable. Regular attendance and contribution to multi-disciplinary team meetings and mandatory training are essential.

It is crucial to ensure that your personal clinical practice complies with CQC Core standards, including infection control, equity, and safeguarding of vulnerable people.

Administrative Responsibilities

You will communicate effectively with the clinical and administration teams to promote the delivery of timely, efficient, patient-centred, cost-effective patient care. Your administrative practice must also comply with CQC Core standards, including data protection.
